FAQS

What do you look for in new members?

There is no cookie-cutter description of a “Deltasig,” and every brother brings something different to the table. We do, however, look for people who have evidence of intellectual curiosity, professional capability, a genuine interest in business, and a desire to be committed to the organization.

“In 1975, Delta Sigma Pi became the first co-ed professional business fraternity in the United States” (Delta Sigma Pi). Over 40 years later, one of our missions is to continue to become and maintain a strong sense of diversity and community among our members. We strive to incorporate those from all backgrounds regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion and pride ourselves on making sure that all members feel included because we value the ideas and experiences that each person brings to our community. In order to continue to uphold these standards, we are having important conversations with many organizations that serve as safe places for those from different backgrounds and sharing this information through chapter meetings and discussions. In doing so, we are becoming more knowledgeable on issues facing each community and actively changing our behaviors to make sure that everyone feels welcome.

How do I best prepare for the recruitment process?

All of our recruitment rounds can be completed with little to no business experience. There will be no technical questions where we expect a particular answer; however, understanding some current events and the general business realm can be helpful. If you are asked to interview, you will be paired with a current brother, who will help you through the recruitment process.

Does Delta Sigma Pi host social events?

Absolutely, DSP organizes social events including chapter dinners, lunch with a brother, date parties, hikes, and more.

Do I need to major in something business oriented?

Students that are officially undeclared are allowed to apply regardless of their intended major.

Can you join a Greek organization and Delta Sigma Pi in the same semester?

Yes, we encourage our members to be involved in a variety of organizations on campus, including social greek organizations.

What will I need to wear during recruitment?

The final recruitment event will be an interview round where people will be required to dress in business professional. For guys, this consists of a tie, blazer, and dress pants. For girls, this can mean a conservative dress (blazer optional) or pantsuit, and formal shoes.

How much of a time commitment is the new member education process?

The New Member Education process is six weeks. It involves weekly pledge quizzes on the history of the fraternity and planning numerous events. All new members must be fully committed throughout the entire process, but the time commitment is about 2-4 hours a week.
